Blindness and eye Injuries compensation claims

Eye injuries and blindness can be devastating. Most of us take our sight for granted, and to suddenly lose it can have a massive impact on individuals and their families. If you have suffered eye injuries through no fault of your own, you could be entitled to compensation.

Lost or impaired vision

Many accidents which cause eye damage can appear minor, but due to the sensitivity of the eye, any type of injury can result in lost or impaired vision. More serious injuries can result in the removal of the eye all together. Cuts, scratches, hits or burns can also damage the eye and result in some painful symptoms.

Common eye injuries

Some of the most common eye injuries are caused by flying objects such as stones from strimmers or lawn mowers and glass from car windscreens which may shatter after a road accident. Protective safety glasses should always be worn at work if the operating of machinery can cause eye injuries.
Laser treatment on the eyes also carries risks, and although the majority of operations carried out are successful, injuries can be caused.
